Jack Stewart Larsen is a new player for Pro Recco. The American defender, born on August 23, 2001, has just graduated as American champion with UCLA, the University of California at Los Angeles.
Joining the group led by mister Sukno from today, Larsen will be available to the Biancocelesti in the second part of the season.
“Pro Recco is a team that I have admired and wanted to play for since I was a child – the first words of the new signing -. Wearing the white and blue cap is a dream come true and at the same time an immense honor. Seeing all the results, dedication and hard work that have been done to make the club what it is today, means that I am representing something much bigger than myself. This gives me great motivation to give everything to help the team win”.
With seven goals and three assists in the Final Eight, Larsen was a key player in UCLA's national title victory.
“I am a defender with an imposing physical structure but at the same time fast. I have always admired Aleksandar Ivovic, one of the strongest players and defenders of all time: to see him in action is incredible. His ability to completely take the opposing center forwards out of the game, combined with such a dominant offensive presence, is something extraordinary and unique”.
At Pro Recco, Larsen meets his compatriot Ben Hallock, captain of the US national team that won bronze in Paris: “I have received only positive feedback from him about the Biancoceleste environment, that Pro Recco is the best club in the world and that everyone is kind and helpful. He also told me that the coaches are the best around and that Recco and the surrounding cities are among the most beautiful in the world”.
A graduate in political science, Larsen is passionate about basketball: “I support the Golden State Warriors, my favorite player is Stephen Curry. However, I would compare Pro Recco to the Los Angeles Lakers for its rich history of victories and the club’s notoriety around the world”.
“Larsen is a player who combines technique with uncommon swimming and power qualities, we had already identified him in May and we are happy to have made this idea a reality to strengthen the team – says president Maurizio Felugo -. We are sure that in the coming months he will give his contribution to the group to reach the goals we have set ourselves”.
