Olympiacos have today confirmed the re-signing of former player Konstantinos Kakaris
The 25-year-old center-forward, widely regarded as Europe's premier player, was initially expected to rejoin Jug Dubrovnik, where he had previously spent two successful seasons from 2021 to 2023. However, he has chosen to return to his earlier club, Olympiacos, instead.
Kakaris enjoyed a highly successful stint with the Greek giants from 2018 to 2021, clinching the league and cup double in three consecutive years (2019, 2020, 2021) and securing two Super Cups (2019, 2020).
After departing Piraeus, he played for Jug Dubrovnik from 2021 to 2023, winning a Croatian championship in 2022, two Cups (2022, 2023), and an Adriatic League title in 2023.
In the summer of 2023, Kakaris transferred to Pro Recco and claimed the Italian championship while also competing in the LEN Champions League Final Four in Malta.
On the international stage, Kakaris has continued to be a dominant force for the Greek national team, securing a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships and a bronze in 2022.
