Several players will leave OSC Budapest this summer. As it has been heard in the last few months, the club will cut the budget for the next season and rejuvenate the team. Two players move from OSC to French champion Marseille. Danial Angyal confirmed that a few weeks ago. There were rumors that Krisztian Manhercz would also join him.
After yesterday’s match OSC Budapest – Marseille, Manhercz said he would sign a contract with the club he played against in his last game with OSC’s cap.
"Marseille will be the first foreign club I will play. I had several offers from Hungary and abroad, Marseille contacted me very quickly, and they were very flexible. Almost three months passed between their application and my answer „Yes“. Andrija Prlainovic, my teammate in OSC for one year, played a significant role in my choosing Marseille", Manhercz said in an interview with the Hungarian website Vlv.hu.
Manhercz signed a one-year contract with the possibility of renewing for one more year.
Manhercz has been a regular member and one of the best scorers of the Hungarian national teams for years.
Representing Hungary, he won three medals at the European Championships (gold in 2020, silver in 2022, bronze in 2016), silver at the 2017 World Championships, and Olympic bronze in Tokyo.
He played for OSC between 2018 and 2023. He started his career in Vasas. After that, and before arrival at OSC, he played for Szeged and Ferencvaros. Manhercz clinched one Euro Cup (2018) and the Hungarian Championships in the same year, playing for Ferencvaros. Manhercz was voted the MVP of the World U20 Championships in Belgrade in 2017.
A few players will move from OSC to Vasas, but an official confirmation is still missing. We already wrote about two transfers from OSC to Vasas (Gergely Burian and Marton Levai)
