After avoiding relegation and securing a spot in the 2024 Serie A1, Catania started composing the team for the new season in the elite Italian league.
Today, the club announced that it had signed Montenegrin defender Luka Murisic (23). He started his career in Jadran Herceg Novi. After leaving Montenegro, he played for Vojvodina Novi Sad. He returned to Jadran after a spell at Vojvodina. In the last season, he was a member of Olympic Nice (France).
Murisic played for all junior and youth teams of Montenegro. Last year, he represented Montenegro at the European Championships in Split, where the Montenegrins won 7th place.
Murisic is the second newcomer to Catania this summer, after goalkeeper Francesco Ghiara (Trieste).
Two players have left the club since the end of the season - goalkeeper Enrico Caruso and experienced Brazilian Gustavo Guimaraes. The latter returns to his homeland.
