Â
Sabadell faced a few departures after a very good season.
Â
The runner-up of the Spanish Championships left without Sergi Cabanas, who moved to Jug Dubrovnik. Bernat Sanahuja also departs from Sabadell, and will probably join Barceloneta. Â Lluc Bertran is set to join Barcelona, Ramiro Veich, Dusan Banicevic, Gerard Gil and Oscar Blasco left the club, too.
Â
But, the club will sign several very excellent players.
Â
Blai Mallarach (35), the left-handed goal-getter of the Spanish national team, is one of the biggest reinforcements. Mallarach arrives from Barcelona. He started his career in Barcelona and left the club in 2011, to move to Mladost, then to Olympiacos. In 2016, he came back to Spain and signed for Barceloneta, where he played for five seasons. Two years ago, he returned to Barcelona, and now moves to Sabadell..
Mallarach won numerous domestic trophies with all four clubs he played for. Besides, he won the LEN Euro Cup with Barcelona (2004) and a silver medal in the Champions League with Olympiacos (2016).
Â
Representing Spain, he won two medals at the World Championships (gold in 2022 and silver in 2009), two silvers and one bronze at the Europeans.
Â
Montenegrin Olympian Stefan Vidovic arrived at Sabadell from Ortigia, after four seasons spent in Syracuse. Before leaving abroad, Vidovic, who won gold in the 2021 World League with Montenegro, and European silver a year before, played for Jadran Herceg Novi.
Â
But, the list of reinforcements doesn’t end with two names. Alberto Barroso, who won bronze medals with Spain at the 2022 Europeans and the World League in the same year, returns to the homeland after one season in Italy (Salerno). The former player of Terrassa will wear Sabadell’s cap.
Â
An American, Jake Ehrhardt, also joins Sabadell. The player who won silver in the 2022 World League with Team USA, graduated from the University of Southern California and will come to Europe. Ehrhardt was one of the best players in the NCAA league, playing for USC Trojans in the past few seasons.
Â
Fyn Schutze left Waspo 98 Hannover and moved to Sabadell.
