Savona has announced the signing of two winners from this weekend's Champions League.
Luca Damonte, 32, and Daniil Merkulov, 27, have both joined Savona after three years in Budapest, where they won three consecutive national titles, three Hungarian cups, and the 2023 Champions League.
Damonte, a solid left-hander, is returning to his boyhood club Savona, where he began his senior professional career. He has also played for Brescia, Sport Management, and Telimar.
Russian international Daniil Merkulov will debut in the Italian league next season. He previously played for Jadran Herceg Novi, Jug Dubrovnik, and FTC-Telekom. Merkulov has represented Russia 23 times in his career.
