The transfer window for this season has just closed, but Radnicki from Kragujevac is already putting together the puzzle for the next one. After securing triple Olympic champion Nikola Jaksic and double champions Dusko Pijetlovic and Strahinja Rasovic, along with three other Serbian national team players who won gold in Paris, the team is set to become even stronger next season. They will be reinforced by two more members of the national team who contributed to those victories – Sava Randjelovic (three Olympic gold medals) and Nikola Dedovic (two).
With these signings, Radnicki will bring two more Serbian internationals back to the domestic water polo scene, as both players have spent the past nine years playing abroad. The duo will join the team next summer after fulfilling their obligations with Hungarian club Vasas, with whom they are also competing in the Champions League this season. They have agreed to a two-year contract with the Kragujevac-based club.
These are well-known faces in the water polo world. Randjelovic (31) began his career in his hometown of Nis, then moved on to Crvena Zvezda, where he won the Champions League, before playing abroad for Italy's Brescia and Hungary’s OSC and Vasas. He won the LEN Euro Cup with both Brescia and Vasas.
Sava has been a long-time member of the Serbian national team, making his major tournament debut with a gold medal at the 2014 European Championship in Budapest. Over the years, he has collected 15 gold medals with the national team, including three Olympic titles, one World Championship gold, and three European Championship golds.
Nikola Dedovic (32) is even more familiar to Radnicki fans, having played for the club in the 2014/15 season and helping them secure their first domestic trophy, the Serbian Cup, where he was named MVP of the final tournament. He later moved abroad, playing for Primorje in Rijeka, Germany’s Spandau, Sintez Kazan, and Vasas.
With the Serbian national team, Dedovic has won two Olympic golds, in Tokyo and Paris.
