Partizan has appointed Stefan Ciric as the new head coach for the senior team, starting next season.
Ciric returns to the club where his coaching career first took shape, having initially made his mark by working with the club’s youth categories. He previously served as the head coach of the senior team from March 2017 to January 2020, during which he led the team to win two championships and one cup. His return marks a significant moment for the club as they aim to rebuild and recapture past glories.
After his first tenure with Partizan, Ciric moved on to coach Noisy-le-Sec in France, achieving the greatest successes in the club’s history. His international experience is further highlighted by his long-standing role with the Serbian national team, where he has been a key assistant to Dejan Savić and Uroš Stevanović. Notably, he was involved in the national team’s campaigns, including the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, and continues to serve as the first associate to head coach Uroš Stevanović since October 2022.
The Partizan Board of Directors expressed their confidence in Ciric’s ability to shape the future of the club. They emphasized that his appointment is a crucial step in developing new champions from the Partizan water polo school, aiming to restore the club’s storied legacy in Serbian water polo.
“We believe that Stefan Ciric’s appointment is a pivotal moment in our journey to create new champions who will write the new golden pages of both our club and Serbian water polo,” the board stated. They also thanked Ciric for his commitment to the club’s vision and operations.
The club also extended gratitude to outgoing coach Milos Korolija for his successful tenure and announced that Korolija has been offered a new role within the club, with further details to be shared soon.
