Radnicki have confirmed the re-signing of Strahinja Rasovic.
The 32-year-old Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020 makes his way back to Radnicki after a season in Hungary with Vasas.
Speaking on the Radnicki website, Rasovic said,
"I wanted to return home, and it was very nice in Radnički. I have only the best memories from Kragujevac and people from water polo know that I always had nothing but words of praise for Radnički. This process to return is just another confirmation of that. When I was leaving, I said that I would come back and I'm glad that it came true."
Rasovic added, "On the sporting side, I am extremely motivated to come to Kragujevac, because the club's ambitions and my personal ambitions coincide."
Strahinja, the older brother of Viktor Rasovic, previously played for Radnicki in 2020. He began his career with Crvena Zvezda, where he achieved his greatest club success by winning the Champions League in 2014. His career also took him to Spain, where he played for Barceloneta from 2015 to 2017, and to Hungary, where he spent three prolific seasons with Eger, scoring 263 goals in 120 matches.
A native of Belgrade, Rasovic couldn't resist the allure of joining Novi Beograd as the club emerged as a dominant force. During his time there from 2021 to 2023, he played a pivotal role in leading the team to consecutive Champions League finals.
Since 2021, Rasovic has been a mainstay on the Serbian national team, adding an Olympic gold medal from Tokyo, as well as medals from the World League, World Cup, and Mediterranean Games to his collection of accolades.
Rasovic was clear on his ambitions while at Radnicki. The sharpshooter believes that Radnicki can return to the Champions League main round, and push Novi Beograd all the way for the Serbian league title:
"There are many competitors: Vouliagmeni, Savona, Vasas, Jug, Noisy le Sec, Brescia... We are still putting the dice together, so we will see what the team will be in the end. We want to do well in Europe, if we reach the group stage of the Champions League, I think we can reach the final tournament of one of the two strongest competitions. As for the domestic championship, Novi Belgrade has been showing total dominance for three seasons, it is not easy to play against them. Radnixki managed to reach the final with an extremely young team and I would like to see us come to the final fight for the title next season as well."
