Croatiaβs head coach, Ivica Tucak, announced the roster for the World Championships in Doha (February 4 β 17).
Since he called up only 16 players to the preparations, and among them were three goalkeepers, the only open question was who would be Croatiaβs second goalkeeper.
Tucak picked Mate Anic (Jadran). Anic will replace Toni Popadic, who had to undergo surgery after the European Championships in Zagreb. Of course, the cap with the number 1 belongs to Marko Bijac, the best goalkeeper of the continental championships.
Croatia goes to Qatar with three center-forwards. They are the most experienced players on the team: Josip Vrlic (37 years), Luka Loncar (36), and captain Ivan Krapic (34). The latter will celebrate his 35th birthday during the Championships in Doha.
