Daniel Varga will continue coaching OSC Budapest in the next season.
In a video posted on the club’s Facebook page today, the former Olympic champion Varga , appointed as OSC’s head coach in 2020, announced that he would guide OSC in the next season.
As he said, he agreed with the club’s management to stay at OSC for at least one more year. The negotiations with the players are going well and conditions for good work in the following seasons are ensured, he said.
OSC, guided by Daniel Varga (who won Olympic gold as a player in 2008), reached the final of the LEN Euro Cup in the season 2020/21 (and lost to Szolnok). It played in the finals of the Hungarian League and Cup a few times but finished 2nd on each occasion.
At the moment, the club is in 2nd place in the Hungarian League and 7th in the Champions League Group B, with slim chances of reaching the Final Eight.
