All matches and competitions in the Netherlands have been shut down for at least the next four weeks. That is one of the extra measures that the Dutch government has taken to contain the second wave of COVID-19 infections.
For everyone over 18, sports are only allowed at a distance of 1.5 meters and only individually or in a team with no more than 4 people. Youth up to the age of 18 can continue to train in a group. They may also play mutual matches within their own club.
It has profound consequences for the various leagues. The Eredivisie, the highest league, only had two rounds of play. One team, namely SVH from Rotterdam, had not even come into action yet.
Players of the national team may continue to train as a group in the national training center in Zeist, one of the top sports locations in the country where training is allowed.
