Ferencvaros just about held out to secure three valuable points against a spirited Lille side. Zsuszanna Mate was the decisive player, finding the back of Mia Rycraw’s goal on five occasions.  Despite a poor start, Lille kept plugging away and nearly caused a surprise. Plebiscito Padova secured another victory in the competition with a hard-fought victory against an underwhelming BVSC side. Laura Barzon added two more to her impressive tournament tally, as did Mariia Borisova.

Group D

A disastrous middle period of the game for Ethnikos saw them fall to Astralpool Sabadell. Once again, Judith Forca led the scoring for the Spanish champions with five goals. Maartje Keuning and Irene Gonzalez both put away hat-tricks, while the experienced Mati Ortiz netted twice. Ethnikos will in all likelihood still qualify, despite losing twice this week already.

In the other game in the group between two of the smaller clubs in the competition, SK Olympia Kosice defeated CA Pacense 9-16. Kosice owe much to their Cuban star, Mayelin Bernal Villa, who netted 6 times in the match to make all the difference.
