CN Terrassa put on a really composed performance this evening as they defeated CSS Verona. In their first real test, Verona didn’t have an answer for the quality of Bea Ortiz, Judith Panicello and Noelia Cuenda – who scored 8 between them.

Glyfada made amends for their defeat to Dynamo Uralochka with a dominant display over ASA Tel Aviv. In a game that the Greeks absolutely bossed from start to finish, two players converted four times (Eirini Ninou & Ilse Koolhaas) while two others, Eleftheria Fountontou and Maria Galiatsatou, secured Euro League hat-tricks.

Marco Capanna has led his SIS Roma side to a huge victory over CE Mediterrani. Silvia Avegno (5), Agnese Cocchiere (3) and Chiara Ranalli had fantastic games for the Italians. Clara Espar and Sarah Lizotte both secured hat-tricks for the Spaniards, who will need to ensure they beat Lille in their next game if they are to definitely to secure a place in the next round.

Ferencvaros just about held out to secure three valuable points against a spirited Lille side. Zsuszanna Mate was the decisive player, finding the back of Mia Rycraw’s goal on five occasions.  Despite a poor start, Lille kept plugging away and nearly caused a surprise. Eric Hardy, replaced Myriam Ouchache, and made a big contribution – securing a quad of goals.

Goals from Thomais Moustakaria (5), Amy Ridge (2), Ekaterina Tankeeva (2), Maria Patra (2) and captain Vasiliki Diamantopoulou (2) sealed the game for the nautical club, who are so far unbeaten in the group stage (two victories and one draw).

Plebiscito Padova secured another victory in the competition with a hard-fought victory against an underwhelming BVSC side. Laura Barzon added two more to her impressive tournament tally, as did Mariia Borisova.

After defeating Spandau earlier, CN Mataro won their second game of the day in an equally convincing style against Ellie Carreau’s Nice. Group D

A disastrous middle period of the game for Ethnikos saw them fall to Astralpool Sabadell. Once again, Judith Forca led the scoring for the Spanish champions with five goals. Maartje Keuning and Irene Gonzalez both put away hat-tricks, while the experienced Mati Ortiz netted twice. Ethnikos will in all likelihood still qualify, despite losing twice this week already.

In the other game in the group between two of the smaller clubs in the competition, SK Olympia Kosice defeated CA Pacense 9-16. Kosice owe much to their Cuban star, Mayelin Bernal Villa, who netted 6 times in the match to make all the difference.
