Jadran Herceg Novi and Novi Beograd are currently tied for the top spot in the Regional League standings. Both teams achieved away victories in the 19th round and have accumulated 48 points each. However, Jadran holds 1st place due to a better head-to-head record.
Jadran demolished Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade β 21:4, bouncing back after an 8:12 loss to Mladost in the Euro Cup. This season, Jadran has a far better team than Crvena Zvezda. However, few could anticipate that 17 goals would separate the rivals. The opening minutes suggested a catastrophe for the hosts, as Jadran led 4:0 after less than four minutes. Crvena Zvezda scored its first goal only 58 minutes before the middle break, but Jadran netted nine before that. The Jadranβs shooting practice continued in the second half. Danilo Radovic scored four goals for Jadran. Uros Vucurovic and Matija Sladovic added three.
Novi Beograd wasnβt as convincing as Jadran, but it defeated Solaris in Sibenik without any trouble. At halftime, the reigning champion led 6:2. The hosts halved the deficit with two quick goals at the start of the second half (4:6). Novi Beograd responded with a 3:0 series, earning a 9:4 advantage. By the end, they stretched the margin to six (13:7). Milos Cuk and Angelos Vlachopoulos led Novi Beogradβs attack with three goals each.
Primorac defeated Sabac in a penalty shootout β 25:24. Primorac, the visiting team, started quite better. It was four steps ahead of Sabac in the middle of the second period. Sabac came back with big steps and took a 13:12 lead late into the third period. At the beginning of the fourth, Primorac regained an advantage. However, Sabac made a new turn (15:14 and 16:15), but Primmorac leveled in the 31st minute -16:16. After 32 goals in regular time, ten rounds of the shootout were needed to determine the winner. Primorac went home with two points.
UPDATE:
The round lasted six days, as the last three matches were played from Monday to Wednesday. There were no surprises.
Radnicki defeated Jug 17:12. Nikola Jaksic made the difference scoring five goals.
Jadran Spliz earned an away win over Primorje 12:8, with four goals from Zvonimir Butic.
Mladost visited Valjevo to play against the last-placed Valis. The hosts played very well. Valis led 7:5 midway through the third quarter. However, Mladost didnβt let surprise and recorded a 13:10 victory. Lovre Milos, Luka Bukic and Konstantin Kharkov scored three goals each for Mladost. Vuk Kojic was the hostsβ best scorer. He also found the net thrice.
