Eleven players who won the silver medal at the 2025 World Championships in Singapore will represent Hungary at the European Championships in Belgrade.
Head coach Zsolt Varga announced the roster for the Europeans today. Absent from the Singapore squad are goalkeeper Marton Miszei, Erik Molnar, and two experienced left-handed players: Marton Vamos and Gergely Burian.
Erik Molnar is injured, while Marton Vamos was not included in the extended roster for preparations because he needed time to recover. Gergely Burian was in contention for a spot on the roster until the final cuts were made. Another experienced left-handed player, Gergo Zalanki, was also not called up for preparations, as Vamos. However, Zalanki did not play for Hungary in 2025 either, as he chose to take a break.
Goalkeeper Miszei is replaced by Soma Vogel, who missed the Worlds due to surgery. New outfield players on the roster are David Tartai, Vince Varga, and Benedek Batizi. Tatrai and Varga, two former World U20 champions, competed at the 2024 European Championships, where Hungary finished 4th; Batizi is the only debutant among the 15 players.
