There were no exciting matches on Day 4 of the Elite Menβs European U16 Championships in Istanbul.
The crossover matches were played today. All four favorites (the teams that finished 3rd and 4th in the Sub-division 1 groups) recorded comfortable victories.

The day began with a match between Croatia and Germany. The Croats controlled the game all the way and recorded a 17:11 win.
Montenegro led 10:2 deep into the third quarter of the match against Romania. In the rest of the game, the Montenegrins allowed Romania to avoid a catastrophe and reduce the gap. They advanced to the quarterfinals with a 13:7 victory.
Hungary started slowly against Georgia, but after a 2:2 first quarter, the match turned into a one-sided contest, ending with Hungaryβs 14:4 victory.
Turkiye defeated the Netherlands 15:12. The hosts led 13:6 early in the fourth period. After that, they slowed in the final minutes.

One round before the end of the group stage, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Ukraine and France secured spots in the quarterfinals.
Today, Ukraine recorded a crucial penalty shootout win over Switzerland (20:19 – 11:11 in regular time) and will battle Bosnia and Herzegovina for 1st place in the group.
Bulgaria confirmed the top spot in Group A. France advanced to the semifinals alongside the Bulgarians, thanks to today’s 14:11 victory over host Slovenia. The French are three points ahead of Slovenia and Cyprus, but they beat both teams and will stay in 2nd place regardless of tomorrow’s results.
