Francesco Grillone, a prominent voice in Italian water polo, passed away last night at 69 after a long battle with a difficult illness. Grillone will always be remembered as a passionate advocate for his beloved pallanuoto.
He founded Waterpoloitaly, the first specialized online water polo media, and served as president of Waterpolo Columbus Ability paralimpica. His dedication significantly impacted the sport, both in reporting, but also in investigative journalism were have was uncovering and loudly addressing critical issues which are impacting water polo.
Many athletes and clubs are publicly expressing their condolences and remember many nice moments and stories they had with him.
The Total Waterpolo team was honored to collaborate with Francesco on the Total Player Award project and appreciates his years of support. Our condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed. RIP.
