Montpellier suffered the first loss on the home soil this season. Douai stunned the hosts with a 2:0 lead. Montpellier cut the deficit a few times (3:4, 4:5,6:7), but it couldn’t equalize. Douai earned a 10:6 advantage four minutes before the end and everything was decided.
Marseille easily defeated last-placed Sete – 15:7 and keeps the top spot. Marseille opened the match with a 6:1 lead and that decided the rest of the match.
Pays d’Aix hosted Stade de Reims. By the middle of the second quarter, Pays d’Aix built a safe 7:2 lead. Reims tried to come back, it reduced the gap early in the third quarter (5:7), but the hosts’ win was never in danger. Alberto Espanol led Aix with six goals.
Tourcoing recorded a 12:9 victory over Noisy-le-Sec in the derby played in Paris. The teams were in a neck-and-neck race during the first two periods. In the last minute of the second quarter, Tourcoing managed to earn a 2-goal lead (9:7) and kept an advantage until the end.
Reigning champion Strasbourg visited Nice. The home team had an opening 2:0 advantage. Strasbourg took control in the second period and went 6:2 up in the 18th minute. They maintained a 4-goal gap until the last break (8:4) and secured themselves a calm finish of the game.
