Pays d’Aix is the only unbeaten team after the 4th round of the French Championships. Pays d’Aix defeated Marseille in a great derby of Day 4 (12:11). Marseille suffered the first loss in the season, as well as Montpellier, which was defeated by Strasbourg in another big game of the day.

The encounter between Pays d’Aix and Marseille was played in front of the packed stands of the pool “Yves Blanc” in Aix en Provence. Marseille, the LEN Euro Cup winner, played better in the first half of the match. Before the 3rd quarter, the visitors were leading 7:5. Pays d’Aix dominated the third quarter and a minute from the end of the quarter, the home team earned its second lead -9:8 (after an opening 1:0). Early in the last period, Pays doubled an advantage 10:8, but Marseille managed to equalise twice in the middle of the quarter (10:10 and 11:11). Two minutes and 54 seconds before the last buzzer Enzo Kahsz scored his 4th goal for the hosts’ win – 12:11.
This was the second important consecutive win for Pays d’Aix, after a victory over titleholder Strasbourg last weekend.
Strasbourg hosted Montpellier in the 4th round. Montpellier opened the game with a 2:0 advantage, but after that, there were a lot of twists and turns. Before the final eight minutes, the rivals were tied at 5:5. Three and a half minutes before the end the score was 7:7. Then Denux found the net for 8:7. It turned out that it would be the final score.
There were also a lot of thrills in the clash of Noisy-le-Sec and Sete Natation. Noisy led for most of the time and it posted a narrow 6:5 win.
Tourcoing, led by Miroslav Randjic (6 goals) defeated Reims in a flood of goals 19:16.
