Marseille, the LEN Euro Cup winner, played better in the first half of the match. Before the 3rd quarter, the visitors were leading 7:5. Pays d’Aix dominated the third quarter and a minute from the end of the quarter, the home team earned its second lead -9:8 (after an opening 1:0). Early in the last period, Pays doubled an advantage 10:8, but Marseille managed to equalise twice in the middle of the quarter (10:10 and 11:11). Two minutes and 54 seconds before the last buzzer Enzo Kahsz scored his 4th goal for the hosts’ win – 12:11.

This was the second important consecutive win for Pays d’Aix, after a victory over titleholder Strasbourg last weekend.

Strasbourg hosted Montpellier in the 4th round. Montpellier opened the game with a 2:0 advantage, but after that, there were a lot of twists and turns. Before the final eight minutes, the rivals were tied at 5:5. Three and a half minutes before the end the score was 7:7. Then Denux found the net for 8:7. It turned out that it would be the final score.
