German clubs had a busy weekend. Two rounds of the national championship were played on Saturday and Sunday. Visiting teams collected points in almost every match.

Titleholder Spandau 04 opened the weekend with a match against the local Berlin-based rival Neukolln. Spandau dominated from the beginning and cruised to a 25:10 win.
Waspo Hannover, led by Ivan Nagaev (6 goals) easily defeated Esslingen 16:13.
A very interesting match was played in Duisburg, where ASC Duisburg hosted OSC Potsdam. The home team produced a great comeback in the last few minutes. Even 16 goals were scored in the first quarter (there were 13 exclusions in the first period). After the first eight minutes, OSC Potsdam led 9:7. OSC controlled the game and the result during the 2nd and the 3rd period. The visitors had a 17:14 advantage 30 seconds before the end of the third quarter. But, they couldn’t find the net in the remaining time, while ASC Duisburg scored 5 goals and recorded a 19:17 victory. This was the only match of the weekend in which a home team took the points
White Sharks Hannover played its first match in the season. White Sharks defeated Ludwigsburg 10:9. Luka Sekulic scored a winner for the Sharks 46 seconds from the end.

The derby of the 4th round was an encounter between ASC Duisburg and Spandau 04. After a flood of goals in the first half, the opponents were tied at halftime (9:9). Spandau dominated the third period and entered the last quarter with a 13:9 lead. By the middle of the fourth quarter, the visitors extended the margin to 5 (15:10) and there was no way back for ASC Duisburg. Spandau celebrated a 16:13 victory.
A Russian Ivan Nagaev was a hero of Waspo 98 Hannover’s second win last weekend. He again scored 6 goals, this time in a victory over Ludwigsburg (13:6). After a balanced first quarter (4:4), Waspo blew away Ludwigsburg in the remaining time.
The second team from Hannover, White Sharks posted another narrow victory. The Sharks played against Esslingen and they copied the result from the match against Ludwigsburg. They won 10:9. The team from Hannover built a three-goal lead early in the fourth quarter (10:7), while the hosts managed to cut the deficit, but not to equalise.
The next round will be played on 16 November.
