Three days after the start of the preparations for Division 1 of the World Aquatics Water Polo Cup, Greece’s head coach Theodoros Vlachos picked 15 players who will travel to Podgorica for the tournament of Group A (March 8 – 14).
Three players, who were part of the team that secured a bronze medal in the 2022 World Championships in Budapest, but did not participate in the Europeans in Split, are back: goalkeeper Emanouil Zerdevas, Ioannis Fountoulis and Efhstatios Kalogeropoulos. Zerdevas and Fountoulis were absent in Split due to an injury.
Compared to the European Championships (where Greece finished 5th), goalkeeper Konstantinos Limarakis, Nikolaos Kopelaidis and Konstantinos Gkiouvetsis are missing from the roster.

Field players: Ioannis Fountoulis, Niklaos Gkillas, Konstantinos Genidounias, Georgios Dervisis, Alexandros Papanastasiou (all Olympiacos), Efhstatios Kalogeropoulos, Ioannis Alafragkis, Dimitrios Nikolaidis (both Vouliagmeni), Emmanouil Solanakis (Apollon Smyrnis), Angelos Vlachopoulos, Dimitrios Skoumpakis (both Novi Beograd), Konstantinos Kakaris (Jug AO Dubrovnik), Stylianos Argyropoulos (Ferencvaros).
Greece will play against Montenegro, Spain, Serbia, Australia and Georgia in Podgorica. The best three teams will qualify for the Final in Los Angeles.
