GZC Donk secured the top spot in the regular season of the Dutch Men’s League.
The Gouda-based team beat reigning champion Het Ravijn (14:8) in the penultimate round of the regular season and maintained a 4-point advantage ahead of 2nd-placed ZV De Zaan.

The league leader, GZC Donk, welcomed Het Ravijn in Gouda. The first quarter was balanced, each side scored three goals. But, GZC Donk ruled the field in the middle two quarters. It scored six and conceded only one goal. The hosts led 9:4 before the final eight minutes. Both defenses loosened in the fourth quarter, and GZC increased the margin to six (14:8).
Despite the loss, Het Ravijn wasn’t very sad. It will probably keep 8th place and qualify for the playoffs. Ravijn is still three points ahead of ZPC Amersfoort, which didn’t surprise Polar Bears. The team from Ede beat ZPC 16:11. Het Ravijn and ZPC Amersfoort will play each other in the last round. But, Het Ravijn beat ZPC by six goals in the first half of the regular season, so ZPC needs to dig hard to climb to 6th place.
Polar Bears are in 3rd place, but they have yet to cement this position. AZC has won just a point fewer than Polar Bears. AZC beat PSV by a narrow margin (16:15). PSV surprised AZC in the first half. The team from Eindhoven entered the third period leading 8:7. In the fourth quarter, AZC built a 3-goal lead, but PSV narrowed the distance in the final minutes.
UZSC demolished De Hamm and still is in the race for position 3.
