In the Dutch league it remains exciting. The differences are small at the top. After Saturday, Het Ravijn and AZC are in the lead together, but UZSC, ZV De Zaan and ZPC Amersfoort follow closely.
Het Ravijn regained the lead by beating ZPB. It was not easy for the team from Nijverdal. Until the beginning of the fourth period, ZPB gave excellent resistance, but in the last period ZPB had to bend and Het Ravijn ran out to 12-16.
AZC is the only remaining co-leader. The team from Alphen aan den Rijn won by a small margin to Polar Bears. After a lead in the initial phase, it went straight for a long time. Lars Reuten and Robin Lindhout made it 8-6, but because Rick Meijer of Polar Bears made it 8-7 with four minutes to play, it was an exciting final phase. However, no more goals were scored.
ZPC Amersfoort drew against ZV De Zaan: 10-10. The home team got off to a good start in Amersfoort. Sebastiaan van Mil (2x) and Max van der Werve (3x) gave ZPC Amersfoort a 5-1 lead. ZV De Zaan then slowly fought back into the race. In the third period, Andreas Miralis’ team turned the score in Zaan’s favor, but ZPC Amersfoort still tied the score. In a tense final period, hardly any more goals were scored. Don Rempt made the 9-10, but Milan Borcsok made the final equalizer four seconds before the end.
UZSC also drew. In Leiden it became 9-9 against ZVL-1886. UZSC went into the last period with a 5-7 lead, but ZVL-1886 came back all the way and scored three times in a row. Flemming Kastrop (picture above) shot the equalizer against the ropes in a man-up.
GZC Donk won at home against PSV (16-10), De Ham recorded his second victory of the season at the expense of Waterpolo Den Haag (11-7) and BZC defeated SVH: 7-12.
Women
In the women’s league only ZVL-1886 and PSV came into action. The home team from Leiden won 13-8 and rose to the third place in the ranking.
