Honved dictated the pace in the opening minutes of the derby played in the pool in Koer street. In the 13th minute, the hosts earned a 4:1 lead. But Szolnok scored three goals in less than three minutes. Pasztor ended that series just 32 seconds before the end of the first half, so the sides were tied at 4:4 at the middle break.
Honved took a 5:4 lead early in the third, but Szolnok replied with two goals. The visitors went ahead (6:5) in the 23rd minute. Shortly after, Zsombor Ekler equalized (6:6).
Honved dominated the fourth period. The Budapest-based side produced a 3:0 run and jumped to 9:6. Veteran Norbert Hosnyanszky scored the 9th goal for the hosts in the 30th minute. Szolnok’s Matyas Pasztor closed the second half, as it did in the first. He scored the last goal, making it 7:9, but it was too late– 46 seconds before the final buzzer.
Vasas collected the points it counted on, but it had to dig deep to beat Eger. Serbia’s goalkeeper Branislav Mitrovic wasn’t between the posts. The Budapest-based favorite was in front for most of the match. But, Vasas’ advantage was never bigger than two goals in the first three periods. Eger leveled the score at 4:4, 5:5, 6:6 and, for the last time, at 9:9 (19th minute). Vasas entered the final quarter leading 13:11. In the middle of the fourth period, the score was 14:12. Then, Vasas scored three straight goals in 01:50 minutes (Randjelovic 2 and Erdelyi one goal) and went to 17:12, which was the final score.

Still, BVSC managed to recover from a bad start and came very close to OSC during the third quarter (5:6, 6:7, 7:8). Still, the team in the blue caps couldn’t equalize. OSC retook control in the fourth quarter, it earned a 13:8 lead with four minutes remaining on the clock and the contest was over.
Only three of many Ferencvaros’ players who played in the World Cup were on the roster for the match against KSI – goalkeepers Vogel and Szakonyi and Italian leftie Damonte. But, the reigning champion cruised to an easy win.
Miskolc earned 3 points in Pecs, beating PVSK. The hosts led 9:8 in the middle of the final period. Oltean leveled at 9:9. Two minutes from the end, Boroczky converted a man-up to give Miskolc a 10:8 lead. The visitors kept a minimal advantage in the dying seconds.
