The clubs that still represent Hungary in the European cups – Ferencvaros, OSC, Vasas, Szolnok, Honved – collected points in the 6th round of the national championship.
Still, only Ferencvaros and OSC recorded convincing wins against Miskolc and Szentes respectively.
Szolnok beat UVSE in Budapest (11:7). Vasas overcame some troubles in beating BVSC (9:7). Honved produced a big comeback to beat Kaposvar. Honved was five goals down in the second period but managed to erase a big deficit and record a 12:9 victory.

Kaposvar, led by Kacper Langiewicz, took a dream start in the match against Honved. The hosts led 6:1 in the 10th minute. Two minutes after, Kaposvar still was five steps ahead of Honved (7:2). But the visitors recovered from an opening shock. Early in the third period, Honved cut the deficit to one goal (6:7), but Vindisch doubled the Kaposvar’s advantage immediately (8:6). That was followed by Honved’s 6:0 series. In the 22nd minute, Honved caught up with the hosts – 8:8. The Budapest-based side scored four goals in the first four minutes of the final period and went to 12:8 and put three points in its bag.
Champions League Ferencvaros and OSC recorded convincing wins. OSC needed a lot of time to break Szentes’ resistance. The visitors opened the match with a 3:1 lead. Shortly after, OSC took control, but nothing was decided before the final quarter. After 24 minutes, OSC led 8:6. The hosts dominated the fourth quarter. They scored eight goals, as many as in the first three periods together, and conceded only one for a 16:8 victory.
Ferencvaros, playing without Denes Varga, had no problems in beating Miskolc – 18:7.
Vasas continued its winning streak, as well as Ferencvaros and OSC, but it had a more demanding task. The game Vasas – BVSC was open until the end. At the middle break, Vasas had a 3:1 lead. In the second half, both defenses weakened. BVSC found its rhythm and leveled the score four times (3:3, 4:4, 5:5, 6:6). In the middle of the final period, Vasas netted two consecutive goals (Nagaev and Konarik) for 8:6, but it still hasn’t secured a win. Gyarfas made it 7:8 in the 29th minute. In the dying minutes both teams missed a few chances. Vasas earned a man-up in its last attack. Ivan Nagaev converted it. He set the final score – 9:7 with four seconds remaining and the hosts avoided surprise.
Szolnok is also unbeaten, like the first three ranked teams. Former Hungarian and European champion beat UVSE in Budapest. The first half was vital for Szolnok’s victory. The hosts earned a 5:1 lead. UVSE scored its second goal only 24 seconds before the middle break. But UVSE couldn’t catch up with Szolnok. In the second half, the difference was never smaller than two goals.
Szeged defeated PVSK in Pecs. Everything was decided in the second quarter. Early in this period, the teams were tied at 4:4. Then, Szeged scored three goals in a row, and went to 7:4. PVSK closed the first period with an action goal in the 16th minute. Only one goal was scored in the second half. Botond Bojos gave Szeged an 8:5 lead 34 seconds before the last break. The visitors kept the advantage in the final eight minutes.
Eger played well in the first half, which opened the way toward the win over KSI.
