The new water polo season in Italy began with the games of the National Cup. The first games of the first round were played today, the tournaments will be finished tomorrow.
The top two teams from each of the four groups will advance to the second round.

Brescia ran over Roma. Maro Jokovic scored two goals in his first match for Brescia. Serbian center-forward Djordje Lazic, who joined Brescia during the transfer window, didn’t debut today. He still hasn’t come to Italy, due to the travel restrictions in the age of corona.

Trieste defeated the newcomer to the Serie A1 Metanopoli. Croats Kristijan Milakovic and newcomer Ivan Buljubasic made the difference.
After a hard-fought battle, Telimar, with a new coach Marco Baldineti and many new players, managed to beat Savona. A few seconds before the end, Telimar secured an 11:10 win with a goal from an extra player.
