Francesco Di Fulvio and Giacomo Cannella each contributed three goals to Pro Recco’s 13:5 victory over Trieste, while the visitors’ Mislav Vrlic inadvertently helped Pro Recco with an own goal, a rare occurrence in water polo. In the fourth quarter, Vrlic’s backward pass caught the goalkeeper off guard, finding the back of the net.
Savona, holding the second position, recorded a commanding 15:8 victory over Salerno, with four from Lorenzo Bruni, who scored four goals.
Brescia faced De Akker in Bologna, establishing a 4-goal lead early in the third period (7:3) and maintaining it until the end.
Ortigia’s excellent 6:1 second-quarter performance was crucial for the Sicilians’ 13:8 triumph over Quinto in Genoa.
The most thrilling encounter was played in Naples, where Posillipo hosted Camogli. In a closely contested match, Posillipo secured three points, with Nicola Cuccovillo emerging as the hero with six goals. Cuccovillo’s decisive moment came in the final 30 seconds, converting a penalty shot to seal the 12:11 victory for Posillipo.
Despite the conclusion of the 13th round, the first half of the regular season is not yet complete. The match between De Akker and Posillipo, played in the 6th round, was canceled due to an officials’ error. The rescheduled match will resume on Saturday from the 13th minute when the error occurred, with Posillipo leading 3:2. In the initially canceled game, Posillipo secured a 12:11 win.
