An encounter between Florentia and Iren Quinto offered a lot of thrills. After three quarters in which the defences dominated, Florentia had a 3:2 advantage. The Florence-based team doubled a lead (4:2) after 95 seconds of play in the fourth period. But, Quinto managed to equalise three times (4:4, 5:5, 6:6). Florentia celebrated a win thanks to Coppoli, who scored a winner (7:6) just 4 seconds before the last buzzer.

Though Lazio opened a match against Canottieri in Naples with a 5:0 run, the players from Rome didn’t secure themselves a relaxed ending of the match. Lazio maintained a 5-goal gap until the beginning of the fourth quarter (8:3). Canottieri scored four unanswered goals in the fourth period, but the hosts didn’t manage to level the score, Lazio won 8:7. Canottieri had a chance to equalise in its last possession, but the visitors kept all three points.

The Sicilian derby between Ortigia (Syracuse) and Telimar (Palermo) was a pretty even contest for more than two quarters. After six goals in the first quarter and the goalless second period, the score was 3:3 at halftime. Ortigia earned the 1st lead in the third quarter (4:3), but the Palermo-based side responded with two goals for their first advantage in the match (5:4). However, Ortigia, the home team in this game, retook control. The hosts netted three unanswered goals by the end of the third period, while they added two early in the fourth for a huge 9:5 lead and secured the win (12:6).

Pro Recco did a clean job in Salerno. The titleholder beat returnee to the Serie A Salerno by 12 goals (18:6).

Sport Management also recorded a convincing away win. Sport Management visited Rome and led by Luca Damonte (4 goals) beat Roma Nuoto (16:5).

After a slow start, Brescia collected all three points in a game against Savona. In the ninth minute, Savona had a 2:1 lead. Brescia answered with 4 straight goals and went 5:2 up. By the end of the third quarter, Brescia earned an 11:5 advantage and there was no way back for Savona.
