Italy finished in 5th place, after defeating Greece 7:5 today.
France beat Slovakia convincingly 17:8 in the game for 7th position.

Italy opened the match with a 3:1 lead, but Greece equalized by the first break. The Italians retook control in the second period and regained a 2-goal advantage (5:3). Before the third period, Greece trailed by a goal. Italy kept Greece scoreless in the third quarter, while Tabani converted a man-up for 6:4 in the 22nd minute. Early in the fourth quarter, Avegno found the net to give Italy a three-goal lead (7:4) and Greece couldn’t come back.
Italy, the silver medalist from the 2016 Olympics, was 6th in Barcelona 2018.
For Greece, the 6th place is a big fall comparing to the Barcelona, since the Greeks won silver at the 2018 European championships.

France finished in the 7th place at the European Championships for the fourth time in a row. Slovakia wasn’t able to surprise. The French earned a 7:2 lead. After that, the Slovaks found the net for 3:7. The French responded with two goals for 9:3 and never looked back.
