The upcoming weekend brings new excitement at the European water polo stage. The 2nd leg of the LEN Euro League Quarterfinals is scheduled for March 13.
Two weeks ago, only one of the home teams managed to earn an advantage before the return leg. Sabadell beat Olympiacos 14:12. The encounter between these two sides will be the highlight of the 2nd leg, too. To remind, Sabadell and Olympiacos met in the last final match of the LEN Euro League, played in 2019, and Sabadell won the title with a 13:11 victory.
The Spaniards enter the second match with a 2-goal advantage, but everything is still open in this duel. Olympiacos is highly motivated to reach the Final Four .
Dynamo Uralochka and UVSE passed more than halfway to the Final Four. Dynamo will host Kinef in the „all-Russian“ battle after an 11:8 win in the match played in Kirishi two weeks ago. UVSE will play against Mataro. The Hungarians brought home a 3-goal advantage (12:9) and they can start thinking of the semifinals.
The second Hungarian side. Dunaujvaros and SIS Roma, the only Italian team in this stage, are at the same starting point. The match played in Rome ended with no winner (11:11) and both sides hope they can reach the next round.
All eight quarterfinalists will continue their European campaigns after this round. The winners of the four duels will advance to the LEN Euro League Final Four, while the losing sides will play at the LEN Trophy F4.
