Marseille failed to collect three points in the French League, but it continued its series of wins.
Marseille welcomed Noisy-le-Sec in the big derby in Round 9. Noisy had a slim advantage at the finish. But Marseille leveled the score in the dying seconds and, eventually, won two points in a penalty shootout.

French League, Day 9
Marseille was on the edge of the abyss, but it avoided its first domestic loss in the season.
Marseille welcomed Noisy-le-Sec. It was a clash between the regular participants of the final matches in the French competitions in the past few years. The big rivals were in a neck-and-neck in the first half, and they were tied at 4:4 at halftime. Marseille built a 2-goal lead in the third period (7:5, 8:6). However, Noisy imposed its rhythm in the final quarter. The Parisians produced a 3:0 run and took a 9:8 lead. Two minutes and 23 seconds before the end, Krisztian Manhercz leveled from a man-up – 9:9. Still, a minute later, Noisy’s center-forward Ivan Krapic scored for 10:9. The visitors were close to winning three points. But, just two seconds before the buzzer, Alexandre Bouet leveled at 10:10 by converting a man-up and prolonged the match to a shootout. After six rounds of shots, Marseille won, and Noisy one point – 16:15.
Noisy’s center-forward Ivan Krapic was the best scorer with four goals. Crousillat, Velotto, Manhercz, Bouet (Marseille), Caumette, and Matkovic (Noisy) found the net three times each. Marseille played without Andrija Prlainovic and Thomas Vernoux. Alex Bowen didn’t play for Noisy. He is with the USA at the Pan American Games.
Second-placed Strasbourg easily beat Reims 15:9. Tourcoing defeated Montpellier 13:10 to keep 3rd place.

Hungarian League, Day 9
Honved couldn’t stop Ferencvaros’ winning streak in all competitions.
The two former European champions met in the 9th round of the Hungarian League. Honved led 5:3 at the first break. Early in the second, Honved, the visiting team was still two steps ahead (6:4). Ferencvaros produced a 3:0 run and took a 7:6 lead. Honved leveled at 7:7 in the 16th minute. Ferencvaros’ defense did a great job in the second half. The hosts kept Honved goalless for almost 13 minutes while scoring four goals for a safe 11:7 lead. At the end, three goals separated the rivals – 12:9. Edoardo Di Somma led Ferencvaros’ attack with three goals, Szilard Jansik and Gergo Fekete added two each. Still, the top scorer of the match was Honved’s Bendeguz Ekler (4 goals).
Favorites won the points in all matches.
The most exciting game was the duel UVSE – Eger. UVSE scored the last two goals in the match in the last three and a half minutes to secure a narrow 9:8 victory.

Serbian League, Day 6
The second phase of the Serbian League has started with the matches of the first round in the groups for the standings between 1st and 6th and between 7th and 12th places.
The derby match was the clash between Partizan and Sabac, with Partizan being the host, but the game wasn’t played in Belgrade. Partizan hasn’t trained or played in the indoor pool “Banjica” since July due to a malfunction. The pool is under the administration of the Municipality of Voždovac, which has to solve the problem. But the pool is closed, which is a significant problem not only for the first team but for the junior, youth and female water polo players of Partizan.
In the last few months, Partizan has been training in other pools in Belgrade. This week, the Black Whites hosted Sabac in Obrenovac, which is located 40 km away from Belgrade. Despite Partizan displaying a good performance, Sabac managed to bounce back after a heavy defeat to Waspo Hannover in the LEN Euro Cup and recorded a 13:11 win, with Andrija Korac scoring four goals.
Radnicki won their match against NBG Vukovi 12:7, with four goals from Lazar Vickovic.
