Four of six games of the 15th matchday of the Spanish League have been staged this week.
The big derby Sabadell – Barceloneta was rescheduled for late March because both clubs played Champions League matches. The game Caballa – Real Canoe was also postponed.
The most important of the remaining clashes was an encounter between Mataro and Tenerife, the clubs that shared 5th and 6th place before the 15th round. Mataro recorded a victory thanks to a good defense – 8:4.

Mataro secured a win over Tenerife with a 4:1 first quarter. Tenerife could never recover from the bad start. The visitors cut the deficit to two goals three times (2:4, 3:5, 4:6), but Mataro regained a 3-goal advantage on each occasion. Tenerife scored its fourth goal in the 20th minute. In the remaining time, the visitors couldn’t find the net, while the hosts scored two goals for a convincing 8:4.
Terrassa, which represents Spain in the LEN Challenger Cup semifinals together with Tenerife, collected the points, but it had a more demanding task in the match against the 12th-placed Rubi than expected. The first half was balanced. Moreover, Rubi was in front for most f the second quarter (4:3,5:4, 6:5). At halftime, the score was 6:6. The hosts showed who the favorites were after the middle break. Terrassa scored four goals in a row in the first five minutes of the second half, and they jumped to 10:6. Rubi didn’t surrender and halved the deficit twice (8:10 and 9:11), but it couldn’t come back.
Barcelona dominated in the match against Sant Andreu. An opening 4:0 run put Barcelona on the right track. Early in the third period, the visitors led 10:3 and the contest was over. Barcelona recorded a 13:7 victory.
The game Mediterrani – Catalunya produced the same result and a similar storyline. Mediterrani dictated the pace from the beginning. It led 3:0, 7:2, 11:4 and left no chance to Catalunya.
