Mighty favorites show no mercy in German League

The best German clubs – Waspo Hannover and Spandau 04 – showed no mercy to their rivals in the 2nd round of the national championship. Both teams ran over their rivals.

Reigning champion Waspo Hannover, which played its first match this season, demolished Esslingen – 20:2. Croatian „legionaries“ were the leaders of the winning team. Andrija Basic, who arrived from Telimar Palermo this summer, netted six goals in his debut for Hannover. Hrvoje Benic, a newcomer from Jug, added five. Marko Macan, who has played for Hannover since 2020, contributed to the win with two goals. Besides Basic and Benic, Luka Lozina, who came from Vouliagmeni, debuted for Hannover in this game.

Spandau 04 recorded a more convincing win than Waspo Hannover. The Berliners beat Waspo’s development team – White Sharks. Spandau flew to an 18:0 lead before White Sharks netted for the first time. Dmitri Kholod was the best scorer with five goals, Marin Restovic and Marek Tkac netted four each.

Ludwigsburg recovered from a 4:22 loss to Spandau in the first round and earned an away win over OSC Potsdam. Each team scored two goals in the first quarter, but OSC took control after the middle break and took a 4:2 lead. In the 13th minute, the hosts were still ahead (5:4). Here, Ludwigsbur started making a big turn. The visitors kept OSC scoreless for more than eight minutes and produced a 6:0 run. In the middle of the second quarter, they built a 10:5 lead and maintained a 5-goal difference until the end (15:10).
