Novi Beograd will enter 2026 with a new head coach. Miodrag Mirovic (48) has taken over the reigning Champions League silver medalists. Until now, Mirovic was the head coach of Sava, the development team of the Euro Cup eighth-finalist Sabac. He has a long coaching career in Serbian, Greek, Montenegrin and French clubs.
It was the third change at the helm of Novi Beograd’s coaching staff in 2025. Zivko Gocic, who coached the team for three years, left the club in June. He was replaced by Petar Radanovic.
Three weeks ago, Petar Radanovic departed from Novi Beograd. Temporarily, the team leader, Slavko Gak, served as the head coach, with Aleksandar Sapic as an assistant. Guided by the tandem Gak-Sapic, Novi Beograd won the Serbian Cup and beat Jadran Split in the Champions League. At the same time, the club started looking for a new head coach. It made an agreement with Mirovic.
Miodrag Mirovic achieved its most significant coaching success while leading Sabac in the season 2018/19, when the club won the Serbian Championships and the Serbian Cup, which are still the only two trophies at the senior level for Sabac.
In addition to Sabac, he coached Beograd, Valis Valjevo (Serbia), Iraklis (Greece), Noisy-le-Sec (France), and Primorac (Montenegro). He was an assistant coach at Partizan and guided Montenegro’s junior and youth national teams. In the past few seasons, he coached Sabac’s junior and youth teams and Sava. This season, Sava achieved a historic success by reaching the semifinals of the Serbian Cup.
