After the two competition days in the Qualification Round 2 of the Euro Cup, four teams have already secured their spots in the quarterfinals.
Miskolc , Ortigia, Eger and Mataro advanced to the next round. Noisy-le-Sec , Montpellier, Solaris and Mediterrani have no chances to reach the quarterfinals.
Encounters that will be played on Day 3 will decide group winners.

Miskolc defeated Solaris, which didn’t manage to repeat a solid performance from yesterday’s match against Ortigia. Miskolc scored six goals before the hosts found the net for the first time, in the 16th minute. At halftime, Miskolc had a 6-goal advantage (7:1) and it maintained a big gap until the end. Solaris “woke up” after the middle break, but the Hungarians’ win was never in danger.
The second match of the day Ortigia-Mediterrani in this group also didn’t offer excitements, as Ortigia dominated from the opening whistle and rushed to a 7:1 advantage by the middle of the second quarter. Before the fourth period, Ortigia, led by its captain Massimo Giacoppo (6 goals this evening) built an 11:3 lead and slowed down in the last eight minutes.

Eger easily defeated Montpellier to book the ticket for the quarterfinals, while Mataro joined the Hungarians after beating Noisy-le-Sec in a hard-fought battle.
Noisy-le-Sec stunned Mataro in the opening minutes and took a 3:0 lead after just 3 minutes and 16 seconds of play. However, the hosts managed to recover from the shock. Firstly, Mataro equalised in the 11th minute (4:4). After that, the Spaniards added two goals for a 6:4 lead. Noisy levelled the score early in the third period (6:6). Then came Mataro’s 3:0 series for a 9:6 advantage, which proved vital in the Spaniards’ win. Noisy managed to come close (8:9) with 01:45 remaining on the clock. Minguez found the net 36 seconds from the end to give Mataro a 10:8 lead. Just 9 seconds later, Noisy scored its 9th goal. But it was too late, as Mataro kept the ball and the victory in the remaining time.
