Mladen Drnasin, a former water polo player and a businessman from Split, was re-elected as the Croatian Water Polo Federation (HVS) president for a four-year term.
The General Assembly of the Federation was held in Sibenik. Drnasin was the only candidate, and all Croatian water polo clubs supported him. He was elected unanimously.
Drnasin has been the president since the Extraordinary Assembly, held in 2018.
The Assembly elected a new General Board, also unanimously. Two-time Olympic champion Perica Bukic, Zeljan Konsuo, Sasa Dujmic, Predrag Sloboda will remain HVS vice-presidents. Besides Drnasin and the four vice –presidents, the members of the Board are Milivoj Bebic, Boris Labar, Ana Stojic Deban, Ante Kulusic, Adrian Jezina, Hrvoje Akrap, Dalibor Bilic, Tomislav Dumancic, Kristijan Pavic, Samir Barac, Tomislav Ninic.
Drnasin told that the Federation had managed to realize all planned sporting events and competition this year, despite the coronavirus pandemic. He said that the Federation had financially supported the clubs to overcome difficult times caused by the pandemic.
Bukic, who is also an Executive Director of HVS, spoke about the 2020/21 season and emphasized that the Federation was very proud that the 2021 European U17 Women’s Championship would be held in Croatia (Sibenik).
