Seven-time European champion Mladost defeated Primorje easier than expected in the highlighted duel of the 6th round of the Croatian League.
It was a clash between the teams that shared 3rd and 4th place after five rounds. Mladost recorded a 15:8 victory, and it’s lonely in 3rd place now. Jadran Split and Jug collected the points with ease and continued to share 1st and 2nd place.

Mladost took control in the early stage of the derby game. Primorje leveled the score twice (1:1, 2:2). The hosts, led by experienced Marko Jelaca, dominated in the second quarter. Jelaca found the net three times in the second quarter. He deserves the most credit for a 4-goal margin at the middle break (7:3). Both defenses weakened in the third quarter, but Primorje wasn’t able to endanger Mladost’s advantage. The hosts tightened their defense in the final quarter, while it scored three goals for a comfortable 15:8 victory.

Jadran Split convincingly beat its local rival Mornar, which opened the match well. Mornar had a 3:2 advantage before the second period, and led 4:3 in the 13th minute. After that, Jadran started firing on all cylinders and scored nine goals in a row for a big 12:3 advantage.
Medvescak kept up with Solaris until 5:5. Then, Solaris netted six goals in a row. The Sibenik-based team built an 11:5 lead in the 21st minute and there was no way back for the hosts.
KPK Korcula recorded its first win in the season, beating bottom-placed Zadar. Everything was open until the opening minutes of the fourth quarter. Zadar led 3:1 in the second quarter. The home side scored four consecutive goals and turned a two-goal deficit into a 5:3 lead. Zadar leveled at 5:5 and 6:6, but it ran out of energy for the finish of the game.
