A very young team will represent Montenegro at the European Championships in Belgrade.
Head coach Dejan Savic has made several changes to the roster compared with the one that competed at the 2025 World Championships.
Two experienced players, Vladan Spaic and Vlado Popadic, are included on the team again,after missing the 2025 Worlds. However, there are also some new, young additions.
Danilo Stupar, the captain of the Montenegro U18 team, which won the European title last year, will make his senior national team debut. Strahinja Gojkovic, who was named MVP of the European U18 Championships, has already played for the senior team. In addition to these two, the team has one more junior (U20 player): Srdjan Janovic. After three juniors, the youngest on the team is Balsa Vuckovic, who will turn 21 this year.
A total of 18 players were part of the final phase of preparations; those who did not make the final cut are goalkeeper Lazar Andric, left-handed player Djuro Radovic, and Dusan Banicevic, all of whom played at the 2025 World Championships.

Outfield players: Miroslav Perkovic (Novi Beograd), Vladan Spaic (Marseille), Jovan Vujovic (Jadran HN), Aljosa Macic (Sabac), Vasilije Radovic (Jadran HN), Vlado Popadic (Brescia), Dmitrii Kholod (Jadran HN), Strahinja Gojkovic (Jadran HN), Balsa Vuckovic (Primorac), Dusan Matkovic (Jadran Split), Marko Mrsic (Primorac), Danilo Stupar (Jadran HN), Srdjan Janovic (Jadran Herceg Novi).
Montenegro will play in Group A of the 36th European Championships and will face Hungary, France and Malta in Group Phase I.
