Greece, the silver medalist at the previous World Championships, will have one debutant on the roster at the World Championships in Doha.
A new name among the 15 players picked by head coach Theodoros Vlachos is Nikolaos Papanikolaou.
Compared to the team that played at the European Championships, Georgios Dervisis has been omitted. Papanikolaou replaced him.
The debutant at a major senior competition recently joined Panathinaikos after graduating from the University of California, Berkley. Last year, Papanikolau won the title in the college league of the USA (NCAA) as a player of the California Bears. He was voted the MVP of the NCAA Championships for the third time. In 2018, Papanikolaou won gold with Greece at the World U18 Championships.

Greece was drawn into the group with France , China and Brazil. On Day 1 (February 5), the Greeks will play against China. Before the Championships, the Greeks will train with Italy and Greece in Dubai (January 30 – February 2).
