Sabac bye

Jadran started in the same way as yesterday in the match against Trieste. The Montenegrins were a better rival in the first half. Moreover, they ruled the field. By the middle of the second period, they built a 6:1 lead. Just like in the match with Trieste, Jadran slowed after the middle break. Still, the champion of Montenegro didn’t let Pays d’Aix come back. Early in the fourth, the difference was still five goals (7:2). The French reduced the gap to two goals (5:7, 6:8, 7:9). Pays d’Aix scored its 7th goal in the 27th minute. There was a lot of time for a comeback. However, Jadran retook control. Eighteen seconds before the buzzer, Muscat found the net for the final score.

Trieste was too strong for Solaris, which had 12 players on the roster, just as against Sabac yesterday (Erak’s suspension hasn’t expired). The Croats were in the game in the first half. In the 16th minute, they trailed by two goals (5:7). Trieste scored the last goal in the second quarter and added six goals in a row after a 3-minute break. They jumped to a 14:5 lead and secured a big victory.

Valis collected the first three points with an easy win over the underdog Vitoria.

Ortigia dictated the pace for most of the first half of the second match of the day. BVSC equalized three times (1:1, 4:4, 5:5). The opening few minutes of the second half were crucial for the outcome. Ortigia scored three goals within 78 seconds (in the 18th and 19th minute) and went to 8:5. The Italian side kept the 3-goal advantage for a while. But, in the middle of the fourth period, BVSC scored two goals in 54 seconds, and it trailed 7:8 with 04:03 minutes to go. Ferrero made it 9:7 in the 30th minute. BVSC did everything to come back, but it just reduced a gap four seconds before the end.
