After four-goal away losses in the 1st leg, Miskolc and Szentes had some hopes that they could reach the quarterfinals. But, both teams suffered losses on the home ground.
Honved beat Szentes 14:10 at home. The second match was a one-sided contest. Szentes was better only in the second period. Honved recorded a 15:4 victory.
The second encounter between Miskolc and Eger was more interesting than the game in Szentes. Still, Eger was always almost in front. Miskolc leveed several times (2:2, 9:9, 10:10, 11:11, 12:12), but it never took the lead and didn’t endanger Eger’s victory in the aggregate score.
PVSK Pecs had a 4:2 lead in the middle of the return match against Szeged, which boosted the hosts’ hopes they could erase a 5-goal deficit from the first match. But PVSK scored only two goals in the remaining time, conceding seven.
