A big derby was the highlight of the 3rd round of the Serbian League.
Two Champions League clubs – Novi Beograd and Radnicki – faced off in Belgrade. The game, played in front of the full stands, turned into a scoring festival. Novi Beograd emerged as a winner (18:14).

Reigning champion Radnicki was the better rival in the first eight minutes. The Kragujevac-based side started with a 5:2 lead. At the finish of the first quarter, Novi Beograd’s captain Dusan Mandic scored for 3:5 and pulled the trigger. The hosts dominated in the second period. They jumped to a 10:6 lead by halftime. Radnicki halved the deficit early in the third period (8:10), but the visitors had to continue without head coach Stevanovic shortly after. He was red-carded for protest. Novi Beograd maintained a 2-goal difference until the last break and controlled the game in the high-scoring fourth quarter to record an 18:14 victory.
Strahinja Rasovic, who moved from Radnicki to Novi Beograd last summer, was the best scorer with five goals. Dusko Pijetlovic and Nika Shushiashvilli added three each. Dusan Mandic and Angelos Vlachopoulos scored two, etc. Centre-forward Josip Vrlic netted four goals for Radnicki, Filip Jankovic scored three.
Radnicki and Novi Beograd will face off again in the same venue in ten days. Novi Beograd will host Radnicki on Day 1 of the Champions League.
Partizan easily defeated Nais (19:4). Radojevic, Andrin, and Barac were the best scorers (three goals each).
Newcomer to the Super League Valis Vljevo surprised Vojvodina and earned a point (11:11) although it was three goals down before the final period (7:10).
Proleter played well against Sabac, but the favorite collected all three points.
