Novi Beograd remains the only unbeaten team in the Regional League after three tournaments (eight matchdays).
The tournaments of the third stage were played in Sabac and Sibenik.
Before the third stage, the best Serbian clubs – Novi Beograd and Radnicki – had perfect records (five wins each in the first two phases). They faced off in the derby of the group in Sabac. Novi Beograd recorded a convincing 13:6 victory. Now, the reigning champion is lonely atop the table with 24 points.
The Croatian derby was played in Sibenik. Jug defeated Jadran Split (14:11) and climbed to 2nd place.
Mladost Zagreb helped Jug to move to 2nd place. After a loss to Novi Beograd, Radnicki didn’t manage to beat Mladost in the last round in Sabac. The match surprisingly ended in a 13:13 draw. Therefore, Radnicki dropped to 3rd place. Jadran Split is still in 4th position.
These four clubs will likely qualify for the Final Four (March 25 and 26), just like the previous season. But, it’s still not sure if the title-holder Novi Beograd will remain atop and be the host of the F4.
The fourth stage will be played between February 23 and 25 in Dubrovnik and Split.
Jug will have a chance to jump to the top of the table. The Dubrovnik-based side will play against Novi Beograd in the group in Dubrovnik. The Croats will climb atop if they defeat Novi Beograd and don’t let surprises in other matches. But Novi Beograd will stay in 1st place if it remains unbeaten. A point against Jug and wins in the other two games will be enough for the Serbs.
The derby in the group in Split will be an encounter between Jadran Split and Radnicki, which might be decisive in a battle for 3rd place.

Radnicki responded with three goals and reduced the gap to two (4:6). However, Nika Shushiashvili closed the first half with two power-play goals and Novi Beograd entered the second half with an 8:4 advantage. The reigning champion dominated in the third period and continued its series of goals. After 24 minutes, the score was 11:4 and everything was decided.
Crvena Zvezda beat Sabac. The Red Whites led throughout the match. Still, Sabac was coming back. In the middle of the third quarter, the hosts cut the deficit to one goal (7:8). At the finish of the quarter, Marko Radovic, the man of the match, doubled the Belgrade-based team’s advantage (9:7). He opened the fourth quarter with another goal. Crvena Zvezda went to 10:7 and controlled the game until the end (12:10).
Two seven-time European champions, Partizan and Mladost, faced off on Day 2. This game was very similar to the encounter between Crvena Zvezda and Mladost. Novi Beograd cruised to a victory over Crvena Zvezda in its last game in Sabac.
Mladost caused the biggest surprise in the third stage by winning a point in the match against Radnicki. But, Radnicki was decimated, so the final score isn’t a huge upset if we consider all the facts. Apart from Dobozanov, who didn’t play in the first two games, goalkeeper Stefan Todorovski, Nemanja Vico and Marko Radulovic got ill and missed the match against Mladost. Gavrilovic, who was absent in the previous two games, returned to the team.
Radnicki had only 12 players on the roster. The only goalkeeper on the team was 17-year-old David Pantelic. Despite all the troubles, Radnicki was dominant in the opening minutes. In the middle of the second quarter, the Serbs led 8:3. Mladost leveled before the last break (10:10). Radnicki regained a slim lead in the fourth quarter (11:10 and 12:11). But, Mladost netted two consecutive goals (Rakovac from a penalty shot and Gluhaic with a man-up). The Zagreb-based side went ahead – 13:12 with 71 seconds to go. However, Nemanja Stanojevic saved a point for Radnicki by converting a man-up 22 seconds before the final buzzer.
The last game in Sabac ended in a draw, like the previous one. Partizan played well against Sabac, which was without Ognjen Stojanovic, and led by three goals on several occasions (3:0, 4:1, 10:7, 11:8). However, the finish belonged to the hosts. Centre-forward Toholj leveled at 11:11 in the 28th minute. Immediately after, Gladovic put Partizan in front. But Marko Tubic closed the game by scoring an equalizer in the 31st minute – 12:12.
