The opening matches of the derby Honved – OSC promised a big battle. The teams were in a neck-and-neck race until 3:3. After that, OSC netted three goals in a row and earned a 6:3 advantage early in the fourth period. Honved didn’t surrender and came very close to the rival at 5:6, 6:7 and 7:8. The hosts scored their seventh goal in the 25th minute. But, in the remaining time, they couldn’t find the net, while OSC produced a 4:0 run for a convincing 12:7 victory.

Ferencvaros, playing without Denes Varga, ran over Szeged. Vasas earned an away win over Szentes.

Szolnok welcomed Kaposvar, which started surprisingly well and earned a 2:0 advantage. Szolnok replied by a 3:0 run. Still, Kaposvar leveled at 3:3 before the first break. The match was decided already in the second quarter. Szolnok scored eight, conceding only one goal for a big 11:4 advantage at halftime. Nothing could help Kaposvar come back.

Ferencvaros, Vasas and OSC all have perfect records and 21 points each. Szolnok shared the points with Eger on Day 1. After that, it recorded victories in the next six games.

UVSE led for most of the time in the game against PVSK, but it left the pool empty-handed. UVSE’s advantage was never bigger than two goals. Still, the hosts dictated the pace in the first quarter. In the 26th minute, PVSK leveled for the first time, scoring two quick goals (7:7). UVSE replied with two goals for 9:7, but PVSK leveled again before the last break. In the 28th minute, PVSK went ahead for the first time (10:9).
