Portugal came out victorious after five days of exciting water polo in Brno, Czech Republic. In the final game, they met the only other undefeated team β LAAC (Los Angles Club representing the USA on this tournament).
We witnessed a very close match, where the champion could not be decided in the regular term(11-11). Many didnβt believe that Portugal would grab the title after missing their first three penalty shots, but they managed to come back and take the gold.
Belgium recovered more quickly from their semi-final defeat and won the bronze medal match against Lithuania quite easily 15-8.
After hosting womenβs and juniorβs tournaments earlier this year, once again Brno and Δeski Vodni Polo proved to be an ideal host for the βsmallerβ water polo nations. We look forward to next yearβs addition and we sure hope they will encourage others to organize similar tournaments.
