Home teams Primorac, Jadran, and Sabac recorded convincing wins in the first three matches of the third round of the VRL Premier League.
Primorac defeated Crvena Zvezda 19:13. The Belgrade-based team has started the season with disappointing results. Additionally, two players, Dusan Vasic and Kristijan Sulc, left the club less than a month into the season. Earlier this week, the two got permission from Crvena Zvezda to move to Novi Beograd. Given these circumstances, Primorac was considered the favorite. The hosts built a 7:2 lead midway through the second period. Although Crvena Zvezda managed to narrow the gap slightly to 6:9, Savo Cetkovic scored just six seconds before halftime to make it 10:6. Stefan Vidovic opened the second half by scoring for 11:6. From that point onward, Primorac’s advantage was never less than four goals. Yusuke Inaba was the top scorer with five goals, while both Savo Cetkovic and Crvena Zvezda’s Stefan Pjesivac each scored four goals.
Jadran Herceg Novi showed no mercy to Buducnost, defeating the Podgorica-based team 21:4. Daniil Merkulov and Srdjan Janovic each contributed four goals to this dominant victory.
Sabac kept its perfect record with an 18:5 victory over Partizan, with five goals from Nebojsa Toholj. The team established an early 4:0 lead and extended it to 6:1 by the 10th minute. Although Partizan managed to reduce the deficit to three goals late in the second quarter (3:6, 4:7), Sabac regained control and built a comfortable 13:5 lead heading into the final eight minutes. During the fourth period, the hosts increased the margin to 13. Partizan couldn’t find the net in the last 15 minutes of the game
