Radnicki defeats Partizan twice in a few days

The first round of the Serbian League finished this evening.

Due to the clubs’ obligations in the Regional League and the European cups, the matches of the first round were held in a span of eight days. The big game of the week was an encounter between Radnicki and Partizan. The Kragujevac-based side recorded a 14:12 win.

Just like in Serbia, the games of the first round in Croatia have been played on different dates. The league started ten days ago, and the first round finished yesterday. At the same time, the 2nd round started.

2022/23 Serbian League, Round 1

Radnicki – Partizan 14:12 (3:4, 4:4, 4:0, 3:4)
Radnicki: Lukic 3, Cuk 3, Radulovic 1, Stanojevic 1,Jankovic 1, Vico 1, Gavrilovic 1, Pljevancic 1.

On Sunday, Radnicki beat Partizan 17:11 in the Regional League. The match between the same rivals in the national championship played two days after offered more excitement, but the hosts collected the points again.

Partizan opened the match with a 3:1 lead. Early in the second period, Radnicki went ahead (5:4), but Partizan made a turn and entered the second half with an 8:7 advantage. However, the hosts scored five unanswered goals in the second period and jumped to 12:8. The Belgrade-based team reduced the gap (12:13), but Marko Radulovic scored a goal for 14:12 and decided everything.

Newcomer to the Super League, NBG Vukovi surprised Valis, which will play in the LEN Euro Cup from tomorrow. Vukovi took a flying start and took a 5:2 lead. Valis leveled at 8:8 at the finish of the game. Vukovi went in front once more (9:8), but Bursac scored an equalizer immediately after.

A duel between Nais and Vojvodina was also very exciting and ended with no winner. Vojvodina led for most of the time, it had an 8:6 advantage, but Nais saved a point in the last quarter – 9:9.

Reigning champion Novi Beograd showed no mercy to Proleter in the last match of the round. Olympic champion Nikola Jaksic recovered from an injury and scored four goals for Novi Beograd in his first match in the season.

Round 2

Jadran S – POSK 21:4 (6:0, 6:1, 3:1, 6:2)
Jadran S: Setka 4, Tomasovic 3, Buric 2, Marinic Kragic 2, Delic 2, Zovic 2, Butic 2, Stojanac 1, Bukic 1, Pejkovic 1, Duzevic 1.
POSK: Vukic 1, Prizmic 1, Jankovic 1, Tonkovic 1.

Primorje closed the first round of the Croatian League with a convincing win over Zadar 21:10. Tin Brubnjak led the Primorje with seven goals.

A clash between two Split-based teams opened the 2nd round. Jadran Split made no mistake in its final rehearsal before its start in the Champions League qualifications. Jadran demolished POSK 21:4. Even 10 players of Jadran found the net in this game. Captain Andjelo Setka scored four goals.
