The countdown to the start of the European Championships in Budapest is near the end. The female tournament begins on January 12th. Two days later, men will start their battles.
In the last few days, several head coaches have chosen the rosters for the Budapest. Today, Dejan Savic (Serbia), Theorodos Vlachos (Greece) and Vladimir Gojkovic (Montenegro) announced the lists of the players that travel to Budapest. Two days ago Tamas Marcz (Hungary) picked his 13 players.

Serbia
Serbia, the reigning champion for men, will play with 12 players who won the gold medal in Barcelona 2018. A new name is Nikola Dedovic, in place of Viktor Rasovic. All superstars who missed the World Championships in Gwangju (Filipovic, Prlainovic, Pijetlovic, Aleksic…) returned to the team.
Goalkeepers: Gojko Pijetlovic (Oradea), Branislav Mitrovic (OSC Budapest). Field players: Dusan Mandic (Pro Recco), Nikola Dedovic (Spandau 04), Sava Randjelovic (OSC Budapest), Milos Cuk (Mladost), Dusko Pijetlovic (Szolnok), Nemanja Vico (Trieste), Milan Aleksic (Barceloneta), Nikola Jaksic (Ferencvaros), Filip Filipovic (Pro Recco), Andrija Prlainovic (OSC Budapest), Stefan Mitrovic (Olympiacos).
Hungary
After a disappointing 9th place at the previous Europan Championships, the male team of Hungary seeks a medal and an Olympic berth on home soil.
An experienced defender Norbert Hosnyanszky (35-years-old) is back in the team after two years and he should be among the key players in Tamas Marcz’s squad. Hosnyanszky will replace Tamas Sedlmayer.

Greece
Greece’s head coach Theodoros Vlachos picked the same 13 players who competed at the World Championships in Gwangju, when the Greeks finished in 7th place.
Greece recently retained the gold medal at the U20 World Championhsips, but Alexandros Papanastasiou is the only guy from that team who already secured himself a spot in the senior team. Others are still waiting for a chance.

Montenegro
Montenegro arrives in Budapest with four debutants! Goalkeeper Petar Tesanovic (Jadran Herceg Novi), field players Dimitrije Obradovic (Jadran), Stefan Pjesivac (Spandau) and Stefan Vidovic (Miskolc) has never played at the major competitions.
After many years, Montenegro will play without Mladjan Janovic, who retired last year.
Goalkeepers: Dejan Lazovic, Petar Tesanovic. Field players: Drasko Brguljan, Djuro Radovic, Marko Petkovic, Uros Cuckovic, Dimitrije Obradovic, Stefan Vidovic, Bogdan Djurdjic, Aleksandar Ivovic, Vladan Spaic, Dragan Draskovic i Stefan Pjesivac.
