A day after Sabadell's 7th Champions League triumph, they are already looking ahead to next season, planning to strengthen their goalkeeping options with the signing of Laura Aarts.
The 27-year-old Dutch international is currently with Sabadell's title rivals, CN Mataro, but has played only in Champions League fixtures this season due to the country's foreign quota rules.
Aarts, a two-time European and one-time World Champion, is the Netherlands' first-choice goalkeeper. Despite retiring from international duty in 2020 and missing out on the Tokyo Olympics, she returned a year later and continues to be one of the world's best goalkeepers.
In joining Sabadell, Aarts will add to the club's strong Dutch party, reuniting with her international teammates, Sabrina Van der Sloot and Maartje Keuning.
After beginning her career in the Netherlands with Ede Polar Bears and USZC, Aarts spent four successful years with the Hungarian side Dunaujvaros (2017-2020 & 2022-2023), clinching the LEN Trophy and the LEN Super Cup in 2018.
